Het meer is vernoemd naar een ranger uit de negentiende eeuw genaamd Lige Sparks. Verschillende gebergten zijn zichtbaar vanaf het meer zoals Mount Bachelor, Three Sisters en Broken Top. Het meer is de perfecte plek voor boottochtjes, kanoën en vliegvissen.
